Question 01 / 13
Who are you finding shoes for?
This helps us personalise the language and recommendations throughout.
🙋
Myself
I'm finding shoes for my own feet.
🎁
Someone Else
I'm helping find shoes for another person.
Question 02 / 13
Where are you based?
We use this to show you nearby stores and online shops that ship to you — so you can try shoes on or avoid import fees.
Question 02 / 13
What is your sex?
Men's and women's shoes are built on different lasts — the internal foot form — which directly affects fit, not just sizing.
♂️
Male
♀️
Female
Question 03 / 13
What is your age range?
Children's feet are structurally different and need different support. Flexibility and natural toe splay are especially important in growing feet.
🧑
Adult
18 years and over
🧒
Big Kid / Teen
Approx. 8–17 years. Feet are still developing — wide toe box and flexibility are key.
👦
Younger Kid
Approx. 3–7 years. Soft, flexible soles are essential — avoid rigid or structured shoes.
👶
Toddler / Baby
Under 3 years. Barefoot is best — shoes should only protect, never restrict movement.
Question 04 / 13
How would you describe your foot width?
If standard shoes feel tight across the ball of the foot, you likely need a wider fit. If they feel loose or sloppy, a narrower last may suit you better.
➖
Slim / Narrow
Standard shoes feel loose or sloppy around the midfoot.
👟
Medium / Standard
Most shoes fit well without feeling tight or loose.
↔️
Wide Fit
Standard shoes feel tight across the toes or ball of foot.
⬅️➡️
Extra Wide
Even wide-fit shoes feel tight. You need significant toe box room.
Question 05 / 13
What is your arch type?
Try the wet test — wet your foot, stand on paper with your full weight, lift off and look at the print. Use the guide below to identify your arch type.
📸 Wet your foot, step on paper and compare your print to the guide above
⬇️
Low / Flat Arch
Full sole visible. Most of your midfoot is on the ground. May roll inward.
↕️
Medium / Neutral
About half your midfoot contacts the ground. The most common arch type.
⬆️
High Arch
Very little midfoot on the ground, clear gap visible. May roll outward.
🤔
I'm Not Sure
We'll recommend versatile, all-arch footwear with broad support.
Question 06 / 13
Let's talk about your foot health
Being honest here leads to much better recommendations. Footwear plays a significant role in managing and preventing foot pain.
Are you currently experiencing any foot or lower limb pain?
😣
Yes
✅
No
⚠️

✅
Great to hear. We'll focus on performance, comfort and preventive support — footwear that keeps your feet healthy long-term.
Do you have any history of foot pain or lower limb injury?
😣
Yes
✅
No
📋
History noted. Previous injuries can affect gait and load distribution long-term. We'll factor this in by recommending shoes with appropriate protective features — even if you're currently pain-free.
💪
Good foundation. No injury history gives us more flexibility in matching you with performance-focused footwear.
Question 07 / 13
Do you use orthotics or custom insoles?
If you use insoles, the shoe needs sufficient internal depth and volume to accommodate them without compressing the foot.
👨⚕️
Yes — Custom Orthotics
Prescribed by a clinician. Requires a roomy, high-volume shoe with removable insole.
🏪
Yes — Over-the-Counter
Shop-bought arch support or cushioning inserts.
🦶
No — Stock Insole Only
I use the insole that comes with the shoe.
💡
Did you know? Orthotics should be short-term, not a lifelong solution
Orthotics can be valuable during recovery, but long-term reliance can weaken the intrinsic muscles of the foot. Many people find they can reduce or eliminate their need for orthotics through targeted foot strengthening exercises — and the right footwear is the first step.
Want help reducing your reliance on orthotics?
Our foot health specialists can build you a personalised strengthening programme. Use code FOOTPAIN30 for 30% off your first consultation.

Question 09 / 13

Thinner soles promote natural proprioception and muscle engagement. Thicker soles offer more cushioning and impact protection.

Wide Toe Box
Natural toe splay — important for bunions, wide feet and barefoot transition.

I currently wear conventional shoes and I am just starting to explore.
🚶
Some Experience
I have tried minimal shoes and my feet are adjusting well.
🦶
Fully Transitioned
Barefoot shoes are my everyday — I am comfortable in very thin soles.

💳
£80 – £150
